Great Places In Oklahoma City For Engagement Photos
How many of you have been dying to find the right place to take you engagement photos here in OKC? Well, I am here to help! I have shot at TONS of great locations inside and outside the city. Here are just a few!
Bricktown District.
This is one of my favorite places to shoot not only because of the beautiful eye-catching fountain, but because they have some chic wine-bars, as well as the Bricktown Water Taxi! If you like the city style, and some nice reflection, Bricktown is for you! This place has so much variety I don't know where to even start! This area of OKC has lots of neat shops from handmade chocolate to home decor. During the holidays they light up all of the buildings and really go all out! Take a day for great shopping together while getting your portraits in! You won't be disappointed! Here are a couple shots of some cool spots in Bricktown District. https://www.visitokc.com/about-okc/okc-districts/bricktown/
Will Rogers Park.
This place has wonderful scenery if you are more into the floral theme. Its most beautiful in the Spring and Summer but still a go-to of mine. The gardens make a spectacular place for weddings and special events and their prices are nearly unbeatable! There are a few nice fountains for a classic backdrop and several great bridges to take your pics on! Even in the fall this place is great to shoot at! They are located at 3400 NW 36th St in Oklahoma, City. Check out their website at https://www.okc.gov/departments/parks-recreation/will-rogers-gardens.
Myriad Botanical Garden
The Myriad Botanical Garden is an urban style location sitting on 17 acres of beautiful scenery. This location has a huge indoor garden and is known for having events nearly every day of the year. It's not uncommon to see a wedding here either! There is really so much to look at here, it never gets old! This area also has an indoor garden that is year-around! Beneath the inside gardens lays a sunken lake that's filled with giant coy surrounded by nice landscaping and a small, greek-looking stadium for concerts and plays. This place is also great for family shoots and events! The parking isn't too bad most of the time, and is free after 6 p.m. during weekdays and free on Sunday. https://oklahomacitybotanicalgardens.com/.
Scissortail Bridge
Of all places that really catches your eye if the unique Scissortail Bridge. This $6.6 million dollar construction is located above Crosstown Expressway. It is seen for miles at night when the lights come on! If you are on the south side of the bridge you are able to see the city behind it and it looks spectacular at night time! It is also known as the Skydance bridge as it reaches 197 feet tall. It is 380 feet long and accessible to pedestrians. https://www.okc.gov/departments/public-works/resident-community-resources/skydance-bridge
Lake Hefner
Lake Hefner might get a bad rap due to the no swimming policy but there is plenty of wonderful areas around it to capture some beautiful shots! There are lots of fields and dirt roads for a more country look or even a beach effect at the lighthouse on the east side of the lake. This place is also great for jogging, fishing, sailing, and picnics. Fun fact: It is named after Robert A. Hefner, who served as mayor of Oklahoma City from April 11, 1939 to April 8, 1947! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Hefner
Like I said, there are some perfect field locations too!
Farmer's Market District
Located at 311 S. Klein Ave in OKC. This area offers great floral scenery as well as a rustic vibe. There are plenty of cute small shops to take your portraits in. Here you will find some very kind vendors each Saturday as they host the OKC Farmers Market. Take a stroll through the alleyways and even check out the Loaded Bowl (Vegan restaurant) between the old market building and the flower shop. https://www.okcfmd.com/
Boathouse District
This place is really quite a gem. There are lots of abstract sceneries here. You wouldn't think this spot would be such a great choice as it is a river sport attraction but it really is beautiful! Check out some of the great spots on their webpage http://www.riversportokc.org/boathouse-district/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwsMDeBRDMARIsAKrOP7HnrN09QA7dCr8x6WBLFl-l31kn1TurUEPtAvoogLvZSGIhgDlY3I4aAiXiEALw_wcB
Hidden Spot off of SE 4th St. in Okc
I will let you in on a little secret for a great skyline view! I found this place by accident one day heading to the AC Hotel downtown. It is also great for those old railroad track photos that you just might be wanting!
