Choosing The Right Time Of Day To Shoot

Many people are afraid to shoot during harsh light. Around noon is considered harsh light or “too bright”.

If you decide to photograph a subject in the morning you will capture a soft lit portrait and oftentimes an almost blue tint. The morning is my favorite time to shoot in the month of October because it gives off a more spooky effect! Maternity portraits can also look great in the morning as well!

During the evening is personally my favorite. It is oftentimes cooler and you are able to capture the sun too as it goes down!

Sunset is another great time to shoot if you want the “Golden Hour”! This is a very short time frame for most area as you have approximately 15-20 minutes right before the sun falls on the horizon line! You can check out what time the sun sets in your area at https://www.timeanddate.com/.
